The International Legal Partnership (ILP) is a non-profit student international legal assistance initiative based at Osgoode Hall Law School. ILP’s mission is to provide global policy, legal regulatory and research assistance in developing countries (DCs). Our Council of Advisors is comprised of diverse, leading Canadian and international law experts. ILP organizes annual international opportunities for Osgoode law students to work with governments, non-governmental organizations and research clinics.

Welcome Class of 2013. ILP has an exicting year planned at Osgoode this year.

  • Fellowships: ILP partners with Organizations and Governments in the developing world to provide them with human legal resouces they would otherwise not have access to. Next summer, ILP will be sending Osgoode students to work with their Partners in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the former Soviet Union.

  • Research: This year we will be starting the Global Governance and Legal Research Program. This will allow us to assist our Partners year round.

  • Special Advocacy: The Special Advocacy Projects allow students to develop traditional lawyering skills on projects that will be litigated in the developing world. In addition, they generate research and case studies which can be applied to legal reform and advocacy in Canada.

  • Events: Throughout the year, ILP puts on a number of ILP events and speaking events. ILP events are to generate interest in current ILP projects while the speaking events range from Mining in the Developing World to the IMF annd Global Governance.

  • Marketing: ILP publishes articles in the Obiter Dicta, advertises for relevant events and maintains www.internationallegalpartnership.org.

ILP will be looking for subcommittee members to work on our various Committees.

We will also be looking for two first years to join the ILP executive.

We will be holding information sessions within the first few weeks of school. Please come out for more information and to sign up to participate.
